RN - CV Tele

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
* First to float to similar or lower acuity units
* Patient ratio of 1:3-4
* 32-bed unit covering CV Tele D2 and C4
* Charge nurse available with no patient assignment; Clinical Supervisor also present in a management role
* PCTs available at a ratio of 1 per every 16 patients
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
* Centralized telemetry - RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
* No ventilator management required
* Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
* Common diagnoses include post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients, and general telemetry
* Drip titration includes Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine (titrating down only)
* Patients are 15 years and older; no pediatrics
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
* Pass/Fail sterile field exam on day 1 of orientation; study materials will be provided
* Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance; maximum of 2 attempts
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within the past 6 months)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
