Opportunity:
RN - PICU
Job Details:
* Pediatric Critical Care unit with a patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* Float required to NICU or units within skill set with orientation provided
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of PICU experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted with required experience
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Patient age groups include infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* Must be comfortable with the following patient diagnoses and procedures: Critical Care, ENT, General Surgery, Ortho, Post-Op/Pre-Op
* Required skills include: Breathing Treatments, Chest Tube Set-up/Care, CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators, Procedure Sedation, RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs, Trach Care, Vents, Blood/Blood Products Administration, CVP, 12 Lead EKG, Drains, Epidural Pumps, PCA Pumps, PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care, Syringe Pumps, Traction/Halo/Pin Care, Triple Lumen Catheter, and Wound Vac
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: NRP, CRRT
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Must request all RTO and specific scheduling requests upfront during submittal
* 24-hour orientation provided
Facility:
This facility is part of a larger health system offering comprehensive pediatric critical care services. The PICU unit consists of 6 beds with a daily census of 2-4 patients. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary services, ensuring a collaborative and well-resourced environment for both patients and clinical staff.
