Opportunity:
RN - Intensive Care Unit
Job Details:
* Function as both a caregiver and care manager, assuming responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame
* Perform patient assessments and data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status
* Implement care through adherence to pre-determined procedures, policies, and care plans
* Identify patient and family learning needs and implement patient teaching as defined by policy and care plans
* Document in patient charts via electronic medical records and/or paper processes per policy and regulatory requirements
* Delegate patient care activities and supervise assigned coworkers effectively
* May be required to function as a Charge Nurse, including patient assignment delegation, coordinating staff coverage, and serving as unit lead
* Demonstrate competency in caring for patients across the age continuum
* Demonstrate competency on department-specific equipment checklist
* Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations
* Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling for 8 to 12 hours per shift
* Must be able to perform CPR and lift/push/pull 60 to 300 pounds with assistance
* Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments
* Acute care registered nurse experience preferred
* Current Washington State RN Licensure required
* BLS (Healthcare Provider Level, AHA or equivalent) certification required within 30 days of hire
* ACLS (AHA) certification required within 6 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
* PALS (AHA) certification required within 12 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
* TNCC certification required within 12 months of hire, renewed every 4 years
* PEARS (AHA) certification required within 12 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
* Moderate sedation training required within 12 months of hire and annually thereafter
* RN-C certification preferred
* Total Joint Program requirements include 4 hours of orientation training and 4 hours of annual training
* Up to 2 shifts may be cancelled per month or up to 6 shifts within any 13-week assignment
