Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with available start times of 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1500, or 7:00 PM depending on shift assignment
* Shifts are structured as Days/Mids or Mids/Nights with likelihood of working a week at a time on a consistent shift, subject to change
* No on-call responsibilities
* Weekend availability required based on unit needs
* Holiday expectations include 2 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Schedule provided 3 weeks at a time, received approximately 10 days prior to the schedule beginning
* Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
* First-time travelers are welcome to apply
* Care for a high-acuity patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, and adult psych patients
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5 with ability to flex to 5 based on acuity and staffing
* No floating required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
* Recent Epic experience required
* Must be proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and basic ED knowledge of drips and medication administration
* Experience with procedural sedation, blood administration, and cardiac medications required; TNK administration preferred
* Must be proficient with Alaris and Pyxis systems
* Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
* Scrub color: Any professional scrub colors acceptable
* Piercings limited to modest studs only; tattoos must not be offensive
* Free parking available in designated areas

Facility:

This Level III Trauma Center operates 375 licensed beds and an emergency department with 46 beds, including 5 safe psychiatric rooms and a Fast Track area. The facility averages 200 patients per day and provides robust support including ER technicians, charge nurses, a resource/float nurse, respiratory therapy available 24/7, an ED educator, 24/7 security assigned to the ED, a house supervisor, social work services, and pharmacy support for sedation medications and code assistance. The facility utilizes central and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station and maintains a traveler-friendly, fast-paced, team-oriented culture.
