Open Position: Lab Specialist - MLT

Opportunity:

Medical Lab Scientist - ER LAB / FSED

Job Details:

* 7 on/7 off schedule working 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* 13-week assignment with the option to extend to 26 weeks if interested
* No on-call requirements, but additional hours are available during the 7 off week if desired
* Perform point of care testing as a Medical Lab Technologist/Scientist
* Willing to perform clerical duties as assigned by Nursing and Lab Director in support of FSED operations
* Daily maintenance, QC, and calibrations on analyzers and patient testing including waived and non-waived tests
* Specimen processing including ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, preparing send outs for transport, stocking lab supplies, and routine cleaning of lab surfaces
* Work with equipment including Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Clineteck, Werfen Top 300, Quidel Triage, Siemens ePOC, Abbott iSTAT, Veritor FLU, Quidel SOFIA, and Aerospray stainer
* EMR system: EPIC (experience preferred)
* Must be a certified MLS or MLT through ASCP or equivalent - full license required, not associate level
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hospital laboratory environment as an MLT or MLS
* Dress code: Pewter-colored scrubs required; lab coat will be provided
* Adherence to standard lab safety protocols as required by CLIA and CAP

Facility:

This facility operates a freestanding emergency department (FSED) equipped with 10 treatment rooms and staffed by 8 lab technologists. The laboratory team supports both day and night shifts and utilizes advanced diagnostic equipment to provide comprehensive testing services. The facility uses EPIC as its electronic medical records system and maintains strict adherence to CLIA and CAP safety standards.
