Opportunity:
RN - Neuro Tele
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* 4 total weekend shifts required per 4-week period, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
* Holiday scheduling based on unit coverage
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; Level 1 Trauma experience preferred, Level 2 Trauma experience will also be considered
* 18+ months of experience will be considered; first-time travelers welcome
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
* Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance - 2 attempts allowed
* Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
* Must be able to interpret EKGs with central telemetry monitoring
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Charting system: Cerner with WOWs
* Scrub color: Steel gray
* Natural hair color required; no facial piercings permitted; men must be clean shaven for fit test
* Must have own vehicle
* 50-mile radius rule applies - no local rate; driver's license is source of truth
* Day 1 SIMs Lab required - pass/fail assessment including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion; sterile field competency is critical
* 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
* First to float to MS/Tele units; floating to Westgate or AZ General Laveen is possible
* Common diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, trached patients, brain tumor, and patients with psychiatric issues
* Neuro Tele unit consists of 32 beds across two units (5NNB and 7NNB)
* Fast-paced, high-turnover unit with an average length of stay of 4-5 days
* Bedside report required

This acute care facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering comprehensive neurological and telemetry services. The facility provides 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy and pharmacy, along with a SWAT RN team available for difficult IV access. The unit maintains high standards for clinical competency and patient care, operating within a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on neurological conditions and post-surgical care.
