Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM
* No set days of the week
* No on-call responsibilities
* Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience required
* Performs basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients
* Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining patient charts
* Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order
* Provides care to ventilator patients
* Assesses and documents appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy
* Completes paperwork, electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charges for each patient
* Assists in department record keeping and participates in training and supervision of new employees
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
* Required credentials: Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT)
* Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required in California
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
* PEARS certification preferred

It is comprised of a 50-bed acute care medical center, level IV trauma center, level II intensive care nursery services, an extensive physical rehabilitation program, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center, and an advanced wound care center.
