Neuro EXP Tele RN
Job Details:
* Position may float between units to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* Expected patient ratio of 1:4
* Night shift orientation consists of 36 hours
* Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds
* Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH scale and proficiency caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Unit holds a Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation and is a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
