Medical Assistant

Job Details:

* Work in an adult outpatient clinic setting serving adolescent and adult patient populations
* Average daily census of 12 patients with 4 rooms/beds available
* Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract period
* 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required
* No weekend requirements
* No on-call responsibilities
* Float may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Required skills include: adult outpatient clinic, labeling of specimens, venipuncture, scheduling appointments, stocking supplies, telephone triage, and rooming patients
* Additional skills include: authorization forms, biopsy, chart preparation, dressing change, height/weight, insurance verification, obtaining vital signs, positioning/draping, pulse oximetry, recording history/medications/allergies, setting up aseptic/sterile procedure trays, and surgery
* Work with patients diagnosed with breast cancer, atypical ductal hyperplasia, abscess/cysts, and follow-up visits
* Interdisciplinary support includes phlebotomy
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off permitted
