Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* Every other weekend requirement
* Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
* May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors
* Hourly rounding required on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
* AIDET communication standards and communication board upkeep required
* Unit utilizes self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks
* Must wear black scrubs
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
* Must have critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, and experience with cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
* Experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems required
* Experience with stroke and post cardiac cath care required
* Peripheral IV skills required
* Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
* Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tubes preferred
* Procedures performed on unit include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting
* Equipment includes bipaps, high flow O2, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis equipment, and wound vacs
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Techs available to assist with patient care

This facility operates two progressive care units with a combined bed count of 59 beds, providing specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions. The units are well-staffed with dedicated technicians and utilize modern equipment to support a wide range of complex patient needs. The facility is known for its family-like culture, strong teamwork, and high traveler retention, with most travelers choosing to extend their assignments after their first contract on the PCU.
