Opportunity:
Radiation Therapist
Job Details:
* Day shift position working 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
* Monday through Friday schedule, 8-hour shifts
* 40 hours per week guaranteed
* Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians
* Deliver prescribed course of radiation therapy by verifying prescriptions, diagnosis charts, and patient identification
* Explain procedures to patients including means of communication during treatment and basic treatment process
* Observe radiation safety measures for both patients and personnel during treatment
* Prepare room and equipment for patients according to prescription or simulation requirements including immobilization devices
* Monitor patients for unusual reactions and signs or symptoms of developing complications during treatment
* Maintain accurate patient records including daily treatment logs and patient charts
* Experience with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator required
* Experience with Mosaiq EMR required
* Must demonstrate compassion in working with patients and strong communication skills
* Must be a team player, flexible, dependable, and detail-oriented
* At least two years of recent experience in radiation therapy required
* Required certifications: Registered by ARRT in Radiation Therapy [R.T.(T)(ARRT)], Certification of Therapeutic Radiologic Technology (RTT), BLS certification
* Preferred certifications: Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice Department of Health Services
* Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent preferred
