Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high-risk experience preferred
* Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with all delivery types and 4 operating rooms
* Average daily census of 15 patients; 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum units; may also float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
* Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to Postpartum hard stop requirement
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections hard stop requirement
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments hard stop requirement
* Proficient use of EPIC electronic fetal monitoring required
* Administer Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1-2 patients
* Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Interpretation Services
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission

This facility is a high-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery center that follows AWHONN staffing guidelines to ensure quality patient care. The unit supports a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, patients in Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients. The facility features 4 operating rooms and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services.
