Opportunity:
RN - L&D
Job Details:
* Day shift position with variable weekend schedule (every other weekend required)
* Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per contract
* No on-call requirements
* Patient ratio of 2:1 during days and nights
* Rotate through L&D, circulator, baby RN, triage, and high-risk antepartum/postpartum
* Perform and assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, triage, and high-risk antepartum care
* Experience with special procedures including IUPC, FSE placement and monitoring, D&C, and IUFD delivery and post-mortem preparation
* Operate Cysto tower equipment
* Work with patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, and adults
* Daily census of 15-20 patients across 22 L&D rooms, 4 ORs, 3 PACU, 4 triage, and 12 MFCU (high-risk antepartum) beds
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
* Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required (first-time travelers must have a minimum of 3 years L&D RN experience)
* High-risk antepartum and teaching hospital experience required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
* Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
* Valid permanent California license must be active and in hand at time of submission (no pending or temporary licenses accepted)
* 2 professional references from within the past year required at time of submission (must be supervisor or higher, no Charge RN)
* No scheduling requests can be accommodated

This is a large teaching hospital and high-volume labor and delivery facility delivering over 300 births per month. The unit is equipped with comprehensive obstetric services including high-risk antepartum care, surgical suites, and triage capabilities. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams, ensuring a well-rounded and collaborative care environment for both staff and patients.
