Opportunity:

Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* 48 hours approved
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Care for patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit daily census of 48 with 64 beds available
* Designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation
* NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Patient diagnoses include Neuroscience, Neurology, Neurosurgical, and Telemetry
* Must be comfortable with NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
* Minimum 1 year of neurology RN experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 total staffed beds, this teaching hospital provides a comprehensive range of services supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and maintains specialty designations including a JCAHO-designated stroke unit, Spine Center of Excellence, and a Level 3 Epilepsy Center.
