Job Details:

* Position may float between units to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* Expected patient ratio of 1:5
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various other neurology diagnoses
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Care for patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Work within a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Unit supports neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient diagnoses
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary support system including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The facility holds JCAHO designations as a Thrombectomy Capable stroke unit and Spine Center of Excellence, and operates a Level 3 Epilepsy Center.
