Job Details:

* Variable scheduling with weekend availability required
* No on-call responsibilities
* No block schedules required
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
* Float required between all units; only patients under the age of 2 on pediatric units
* Travelers float first
* Weekend coverage every other weekend or as needed
* 24 hours of orientation provided
* Minimum of 1 year of NICU experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Scrub color: Any color
* Must be proficient with the following skills and equipment: administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, arterial line management, assist with lumbar puncture, blood glucose monitoring, breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, colostomy/ileostomy management and care, developmental care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, neonates under 34 weeks, neonates 29?34 weeks, NICU III, NICU IV, nitric oxide (iNO), oscillators, oxygen delivery systems, patient and family teaching, phlebotomy, phototherapy, placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, post abdominal surgery, pre-cardiac surgery, respiratory distress syndrome, seizure disorders, sepsis workup, starting and maintaining IVs, steroids, suctioning (ETT, NT), surfactants, telemetry unit monitoring, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), thermoregulation, tracheostomy care and management, UAC (umbilical artery catheter), UVC (umbilical vein catheter), and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
* Ventilators are managed by respiratory therapy
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Care provided for neonatal patient population with a daily census of 52 and 61 beds in the unit

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it supports a wide range of specialty services and maintains a high standard of patient care.
