Job Details:

* Variable weekend shifts required on an every other or as needed basis
* No on-call responsibilities
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
* Float required between all units; only patients under the age of 2 on pediatric units; travelers float first
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of NICU experience
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Must request all time off and specific scheduling requests upfront during submittal
* 24 orientation hours required
* Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw and care, developmental care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, care of neonates under 34 weeks and 29-34 weeks, nitric oxide (iNO), oscillators, phototherapy, therapeutic hypothermia, tracheostomy care, UAC and UVC catheter management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a rich clinical environment with access to interdisciplinary support services. The NICU unit has 61 beds with a daily census of approximately 52, caring exclusively for neonatal patients with a wide range of complex diagnoses and conditions. Ventilator management on the unit is supported by respiratory therapy staff.
