Opportunity:

RN - Postpartum

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Travel experience required; does not accept first-time travelers
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Floating may be required to NICU or L&D
* Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Care for patients following post-partum vaginal or cesarean delivery
* Perform tubal ligation and circumcision support, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery care
* Administer blood and blood products
* Operate drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
* Manage wound vac and administer heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
* Provide OB-GYN, post-op care, post vaginal delivery care, and postpartum re-admit care
* Provide normal newborn care including thermoregulation and glucose management
* Skills required include: postpartum care, discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, thermoregulation, newborn hypoglycemia management, post-epidural management, opioids and pain assessment and management, PCA use, bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instructions, episiotomy and incision care, fundus, lochia, and perineum care, use of electric and manual breast pump, vaginal delivery, cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage management, and pregnancy-induced hypertension care
* Unit has 16 beds and serves adolescent, infant, and adult patient age groups
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
