Opportunity:
RN - NICU
Job Details:
* Level III or IV NICU position caring for neonates and infants, including those as young as 23-24 weeks gestation
* Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Block scheduling available - can work 3 or more shifts in a row if preferred
* Intermittent weekend coverage required; managers work directly with travelers to accommodate schedule requests
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers are not typically responsible for admitting babies, as the unit has a dedicated Admit Nurse in that role
* May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery (newborns and infants only) on a rare basis
* May be assigned as a sitter for all units; does not require patient care when in a sitter shift
* Must be open to floating to different campuses
* Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
* Procedures and equipment include: CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators, Vents, Blood/Blood Products Administration, Cardioversion/Defibrillation, Cooling/Warming Blanket, Feeding Tubes, PICC/Central Lines, and Syringe Pumps
* No ECMO required
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required; minimum Level III NICU experience for at least 3 years or 2 years at Level IV NICU
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Required skills: Administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), neonatal dosage calculations, placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 24-hour orientation required

This facility operates a large Level III/IV NICU with 77 beds and an average daily census of 50 patients. The unit provides advanced neonatal care for critically ill newborns and premature infants, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
