Opportunity:
RN - IMU (Intermediate Care Unit)
Job Details:
* 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, with shifts running from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Must be on the unit and ready to go by 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM
* Weekend shifts include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
* Night shift requires 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
* Day shift requires 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule with a minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
* Self-scheduling is allowed as long as unit needs are met, with up to 4 requested days off per month
* Patient ratios goal is 1:4, though typically running 1:5 and occasionally 1:6
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
* Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
* Float requirement into Telemetry or MedSurg rotation as needed, with ratios up to 1:6 or occasionally 1:7 in MedSurg
* Common diagnoses include chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer, pre/post caths, and patients on Tikosyn therapy
* Responsible for managing radial bands and groin checks; does not pull sheaths
* EMR system: Sunrise; Charting system: EPIC
* Telemetry monitor: Nihon Kohden
* RN scrub color: Navy blue top and bottom with navy scrub jacket; no hoodies
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius; a copy of an unexpired driver's license must be submitted with application
* Any licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission
* Attendance policy: 2 occurrences including tardies and call-offs per 13-week contract; 2 occurrences will result in termination

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. The unit is supported by a robust team of on-site resources available 24/7, including hospitalists, intensivists, residents, an IV team, a PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The facility utilizes Pyxis medication dispensing and provides comprehensive support infrastructure to ensure high-quality patient care across intermediate acuity levels.
