Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available for both days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
* 3 shifts per week required
* Must work every other weekend, including both Saturday and Sunday
* Must work a winter holiday such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
* Every other holiday required, working into permanent staff holiday rotation
* 28-bed private room stepdown unit
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5, or 1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients
* Charting system: EPIC (currently transitioning from Cerner)
* Scrub color requirement: Navy blue; jackets if worn must also be navy blue
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips; unit also serves as the central monitor station for the entire hospital
* Must be able to titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin; insulin is set-rate only; no sedation drips
* Experience with Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow ventilation required
* Heavy cardiac patient population including dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
* May float to ICU in a helping hands capacity
* 2-shift orientation with a preceptor provided
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available in-house 24/7
* Hospitalist in-house 24/7; Intensivist in ICU 7 days per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on-call after hours
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Valid driver's license copy required at time of submittal

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 28-bed private stepdown unit with comprehensive support services available around the clock, including in-house respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and 24/7 hospitalist coverage. The unit specializes in cardiac and step-down care, serving as the central telemetry monitoring station for the entire hospital. The facility maintains an intensivist in the ICU seven days a week and provides a collaborative environment with strong leadership known for clear communication and flexible scheduling options for staff.
