RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
* 4 x 12-hour shifts per week for a total of 48 hours per week
* Shift times: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (days) or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (nights)
* Weekend rotation required every other weekend, variable based on need
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Holiday expectations apply on a fair and equitable basis
* Schedule made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to start; block schedule not guaranteed
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with previous travel experience; 5+ years preferred
* First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
* High acuity patient experience required including hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Must be able to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, perform cervical checks, and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips
* Ability to serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum depending on acuity
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN)
* Equipment used includes Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Floating may occur within antepartum and postpartum units based on need
* Scrubs provided by facility and are not to be worn outside of the facility
* Free parking available in designated badge-access areas
Facility:
This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU serving a high-volume patient population with up to 300 deliveries per month. The labor and delivery unit features 34 beds including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED rooms, and 3 operating rooms, along with an 18-bed postpartum unit. The facility provides 24/7 support including laborist coverage, respiratory therapy, anesthesia, and a team of residents, fellows, and midwives to ensure comprehensive care for high-acuity obstetric patients.
