Open Position: RN - Med Surg Rehab

Opportunity:

RN - Rehab

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation (2/3 for winter holidays, every other for remaining holidays)
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
* 10-bed unit with private rooms serving adult patients only (no pediatric patients)
* Common diagnoses include 40% stroke cases along with trauma, orthopedic, neurological, and various disabilities with an average stay of 10-14 days
* Required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab around 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
* Travelers may serve as charge nurse with a 1:5 patient assignment
* CNAs available during day and evening shifts; no CNA support from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Administer nebulizers and inhalers; RT handles CPAP and BiPAP for nights with RN able to remove
* Manage IV fluids, antibiotics, and heparin drips transitioning to Coumadin
* Floating may be required to similar med-surg or tele units
* Charting system: Cerner
* Any color scrubs required; must be clean and professional
* 2 x 12-hour orientation shifts required
* Rehab experience required; first-time travelers accepted with rehab experience; med-surg background accepted with prior travel experience
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 2 designation and provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services. The rehab unit features 10 private patient rooms and a multidisciplinary care team including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and a dedicated rehab physician. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic charting system and maintains structured staffing models to ensure quality patient outcomes.
