RN - OR

Job Details:

* Work 4x10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with call requirements
* Weekday schedule with no weekends or on-call outside of assigned call shifts
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:2
* 9-bed unit with possible float to hospital surgery department
* Assess patient status on admission to pre-op or post-op area on a continuing basis
* Communicate appropriate information to surgeons and anesthesiologists concerning patient care
* Safely carry out physician orders correctly and promptly, documenting all activities
* Complete admission and/or discharge procedures safely, providing proper pre-operative and post-operative instructions
* Initiate and participate in patient and family education based on patient's level of understanding and readiness to learn
* Provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate ability to direct patient care in emergency situations
* Utilize electronic patient monitoring for vital signs and ECG, Vision computer system, and MEDITECH charting system
* Minimum 2 years of OR experience required, preferably in an ambulatory surgery setting
* Must have hand/eye coordination for injections, blood draws, IV starts, and computer use
* Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds and withstand prolonged periods of standing and walking
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* PALS certification preferred
* Wyoming nursing license required (active and current)
* Scrubs provided; non-slip shoes required
* 8 hours of non-billable orientation during first week; one week of orientation per area (pre-op and PACU)
