Opportunity:
RN NICU NIGHTS - UCH
Job Details:
* Night shift position with variable days of the week
* 12-hour shifts with a 1:2 patient ratio
* 6 to 8 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) required per 6-week period, typically 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, and 2 Sundays
* One 12-hour on-call shift required every 6 weeks
* Self-scheduling
* Potential to float to Mother Baby Unit, caring for infants only; may also be required to float to sister facilities based on facility need
* Average daily census of 48 patients across 55 beds
* Specialize in micro preemies less than 28 weeks gestation, accepting patients from 22 weeks to post term
* Majority of patients come from a high-risk delivery service
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy
* 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with required experience
* Required certifications: RN license, BLS, NRP
* Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line care, high frequency ventilation, IV vasopressors, chest tube management, nitric oxide, oscillators, UAC/UVC catheter management, ventilator management, neonatal dosage calculations, and more
Facility:
This facility is home to the largest Level III NICU in the metro Denver area, featuring 55 beds and a dedicated high-risk delivery service. The unit specializes in the care of micro preemies and complex neonatal cases, supported by an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries.
