Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

* Provide pediatric critical care nursing for patients including infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* Floating required to NICU or units within skill set with orientation provided
* 24 hours of orientation provided
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted with required experience
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Patient diagnoses include pediatric critical care, ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, and post-op/pre-op cases
* Required skills include: breathing treatments, chest tube set-up and care, CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, procedural sedation, RSI, trach care, ventilator management, blood and blood products administration, CVP monitoring, 12-lead EKG, drain management, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, PICC and central lines, Port-A-Cath and vascular device access and care, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, triple lumen catheter, and wound vac
* Required certifications: BLS and PALS
* Preferred certifications: NRP and CRRT
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Facility:

This facility is part of a large, well-established healthcare system offering comprehensive medical services across multiple locations. The pediatric intensive care unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The unit consists of 6 beds with a daily census of 2 to 4 patients, providing a collaborative and well-resourced environment for critical care nursing professionals.
