Job Details:

* Night shift position located at the Heart Hospital functioning as a cardiac stepdown unit
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week available
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5
* 48 hours straight time
* Weekend requirement: as needed, rotating
* Float requirement: yes, travelers will be expected to float to like units within their scope as needed
* No on-call requirement
* Block scheduling considered on a case by case basis
* Self-scheduling
* Scrub color: any (no logo)
* 2 years of experience preferred; 1+ years will be considered
* First time travelers accepted
* Cardiovascular experience required
* Charting system experience required: Epic
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* CPI preferred
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiovascular-related conditions
* Skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, sheath removal, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

Facility:

This facility is a dedicated heart hospital offering specialized cardiac care as part of a larger medical center. The unit is a 55-bed cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population, supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team. The facility provides advanced cardiovascular services and maintains a daily census of approximately 38 patients, offering a dynamic and specialized environment for experienced cardiac nurses.
