Opportunity:

CLS - Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Job Details:

* Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
* 10-hour consecutive shifts with no on-call requirements
* Microbiology and limited core laboratory work
* EPIC experience required
* Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in California required
* Current BLS certification required
* Minimum two years of recent clinical laboratory experience required
* Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA) preferred
* Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences, or allied health technologies required
* Perform a wide variety of clinical laboratory tests on biological specimens including chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, blood bank, serology, immunology, bacteriology, and microbiology
* Employ positive patient identification procedures to ensure specimen integrity throughout pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing
* Perform specimen collection including phlebotomy procedures, labeling, handling, preservation, processing, transportation, and storage
* Review and evaluate validity and accuracy of test results, recognizing physiological conditions, patient age, normal values, controls, and delta checks
* Perform, evaluate, and document quality control checks and adhere to quality assurance policies and procedures
* Correlate test results with diagnoses and communicate critical values appropriately
* Train and supervise trainees, laboratory assistants, and clerks as needed
* Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations
