Opportunity:
RN - Surgical Services
Job Details:
* Coordinate and implement individualized plans of care for surgical patients using the nursing process
* Function as a Day Surgery RN, Intra-Operative RN (Circulating and/or Scrub RN), and PACU RN
* Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes
* Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
* Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer, discharge, and referral
* Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
* Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel and may precept student nurses and new hires
* Employ critical thinking skills and decisive judgment with the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
* Adhere to AORN and ASPAN standards and recommended practices
* Ensure Perioperative Verification is complete before patient is taken into surgical suite
* Respond appropriately to patient emergencies following ACLS and PALS algorithms, policies, and procedures
* Provide thorough report of patient's preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative condition to receiving nurse
* Adhere to facility attire and dress code per policies and procedures
* Minimum of two (2) years of hospital nursing experience preferred
* Previous OR experience preferred
* Unencumbered RN License - Colorado or Compact State required
* Basic Life Support (BLS) required within six (6) months of hire
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within six (6) months of hire
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one (1) year of hire
* Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred but required for call positions
