Opportunity:

RN - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

* Work in an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 1:4-5
* Self-scheduling available, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
* No on-call requirements
* Care for patients with moderate physiologic instability including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients
* Monitor and manage hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac and respiratory monitoring every 2-4 hours
* Perform oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP (up to 80%), and AirVo low flow
* Conduct nursing interventions at least every 3-4 hours including vital signs every 4 hours and continuous cardiac monitoring
* Perform blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours
* Perform neurological monitoring including NIHSS assessments
* Work with equipment including Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, Pyxis, and bedside computers in every room
* Document using Meditech documentation system
* Work alongside 2 PCTs and 1 Unit Secretary per shift
* Royal Blue dress code required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH

Facility:

This facility features a dedicated Progressive Care Unit specializing in the care of cardiac and pulmonary patients requiring a level of care between the ICU and Medical/Surgical units. The unit is equipped with modern technology including bedside computers in every room and focuses on patient experience with an emphasis on nurse courtesy, respect, and collaborative team-based patient care.
