MSW / Emergency Department

Job Details:

* 3 years of Social Work experience required
* Emergency Department and teaching hospital experience preferred
* Short-term acute care inpatient Medical Social Worker experience required
* MSW required; Maryland LMSW or LCSW required
* Cerner and AllScripts charting systems used; Cerner experience preferred
* Day staffing ratio is 1:18; weekend staffing ratio is 1:50
* 2 weekends per month required
* No on-call required
* Floating within scope required based on facility needs
* Block scheduling not available
* Business casual attire or any color scrubs
* Responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations, assessing response to treatment, developing plans of care, and identifying patient and caregiver needs
* Coordinate discharge resources including home care, equipment, referrals to additional disciplines, and rehabilitation or long-term care facilities
* Experience with collaborative care, multidisciplinary teams, and care conferences required
* Advance directive experience required
* Supports Case Management, Emergency Room, and Pediatric Emergency Room services
* Average daily census of approximately 420 patients
* Patient population primarily adults, with preference for geriatric and adult acute populations
* Every other winter and summer holiday required; no time off approved on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day
