Opportunity:

Medical Surgical / Registered Nurse

Job Details:

* Day shift position with 48-hour or 36-hour shift options available
* Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required; 3+ years preferred
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Prior travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 5+ years of experience in the specialty
* Team nursing model utilized with a patient ratio of 1:12, equating to approximately 1:6 or 1:7 per RN when splitting caseload between 2 RNs, LPN, and Med Nurse
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily surgical oncology patients with medical oncology overflow and medical-surgical overflow
* 45-bed unit with a daily census of 30-35 patients
* Responsibilities include wound care, drain management, ostomy care, Foley catheter care, and central line management (PICC lines, PAC, and midlines)
* PCA pump management required
* Chemotherapy administration for ONS-certified nurses only
* IV start skills required
* Limited phlebotomy coverage at night
* On-call and weekend coverage required as needed
* Block scheduling not available; weekend block schedule may be considered and must be discussed during interview
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission; RTO submitted after offer will not be honored
* Must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all three fall within the assignment period
* May be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
* Pending licenses not accepted; all travelers must be in compliance with NLC guidelines
* EPIC experience preferred
* ADN accepted; BSN not required for this position
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
