Job Details:

* Night shift position with 48 hours guaranteed per week
* IV Certification is a firm requirement
* Patient ratio of 1:6/7 on nights and weekends using team nursing model with support from PCC, RN, and others
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, AMI, post cath lab, PPM placements, ablations, and general med/surg cases
* Responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at set rates, and titrating heparin per protocol
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed
* Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical Surgical required; 3+ years preferred
* First-time travelers not accepted unless candidate has 3+ years of recent experience
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Travel experience required
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (strictly enforced)
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Skills required include Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and starting and maintaining IVs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
* If end-of-year holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) or at least 1 if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application and will not be considered after an offer has been made

This facility is a Short-Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center operating a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with a daily census of approximately 42 patients. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and requires all traveling staff to meet strict compliance and experience requirements prior to placement.
