Opportunity:
Medical Assistant
Job Details:
* Day shift schedule Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM (8-hour shifts, 5 days per week)
* EPIC experience required
* Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) licensure preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
* Phlebotomy certificate preferred
* Audiometry and vision training certificate or CHDP certificate preferred within six months of hire
* Minimum two years of recent experience in field required
* Perform non-invasive, routine, technical support services under supervision of licensed physician or other qualified provider
* Set up exam rooms and check in patients
* Obtain patient vital signs and report significant findings to clinic physician
* Perform venipunctures, audiometry, and vision testing as ordered
* Greet and direct visitors and provide clerical support including data entry, obtaining patient signatures, filing, and answering phones
* Schedule patient appointments and obtain billing, insurance, and demographic information
* Maintain patient recall system including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers
* Pull charts, process encounter forms, verify insurance, and update patient information in computer
* Prepare charts with appropriate forms necessary to complete patient visits
* Identify and collect co-payments and verify patient insurance status and benefits
* Prepare and complete referrals for patients, obtaining authorizations and assisting with referral coordination
* Order and maintain adequate inventory of office supplies and equipment
