Opportunity:

Urgent Care Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Job Details:

* Must be a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C); MA-R, MA-P, and MA-HT credentials are not accepted
* Schedule: 2x12-hour shifts and 2x8-hour shifts per week
* Monday: 7:45 AM 8:15 PM
* Thursday: 7:45 AM 8:15 PM
* Friday: 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
* Saturday: 7:45 AM 4:15 PM
* Days off: Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
* Every Saturday is required; Sundays off
* No on-call required
* No floating between units; same location every shift
* Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult/pediatric outpatient clinic setting required
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Reliable personal transportation required; public transportation is not acceptable
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: TBD
* Required certifications: BLS, CMA
* Required skills include:
? Obtaining vital signs, height/weight, pulse oximetry, and vision testing
? Performing 12-lead EKG/ECG
? Recording patient history, medications, and allergies
? Setting up and assisting with nebulizer treatments
? Administering immunizations and intramuscular injections
? Specimen collection including throat, urine (UA/clean catch), and labeling of specimens
? Laboratory tests including blood glucose via glucometer, pregnancy, strep, and urine dipstick/urinalysis
? Stocking supplies
? Administering medication, ear lavage, and rooming patients
* Patient age groups served: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Facility has 11 rooms/beds
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

This urgent care clinic provides comprehensive outpatient medical services to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics. The clinic operates with a team-oriented environment and utilizes Epic for electronic charting. With 11 patient rooms, the facility is equipped to handle a wide range of urgent care needs and emphasizes high-quality, efficient patient care. There may also be an opportunity for permanent placement at the conclusion of the contract for the right candidate.
