Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Block schedules not required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Caring for patients with neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry diagnoses
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy, CVA care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Charting system: Epic (required, hard stop)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* 36 orientation hours

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 total staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering a comprehensive range of specialty services. The facility provides robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support.
