Opportunity:
Pharmacist - Inpatient
Job Details:
* 13-week contract with ASAP start date
* Block scheduling: Wednesday through Tuesday, 7 days on and 7 days off
* Weekday shifts run from 7:30 PM to 5:30 AM
* Weekend shifts run from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, every other weekend
* Weekend coverage required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Missouri state pharmacy license required (pending license accepted if in process)
* BLS certification preferred
* PharmD or RPh credentials required
* Meditech charting system experience required
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* No pharmacy technician coverage overnight; pharmacist is the only staff member in inpatient pharmacy during shift hours
* Pharmacists are not expected to attend code blues or rapid responses
* In addition to order verification, night shift pharmacist will work from a PharmacyOneSource queue to address clinical alerts including pharmacokinetic and renal dosing
* Required dosing skills: anticoagulation therapy, clinical dosing, geriatric dosing, high-alert medications, pediatric dosing, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, therapeutic medication monitoring, and warfarin dosing
* Required intravenous preparation skills: antibiotics, compounding, IV piggyback, and sterile technique
* Required medication dispensing system skills: Pyxis and storage of medications unit dose systems
* Required pharmacotherapy management skills: cardiovascular, endocrine, infectious disease, pulmonary, and renal
* Preferred skills: cardiac dosing and drug shortage management
* Patient age groups served: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Facility has 114 beds with a daily census of approximately 60 patients
* Locals within a 60-mile radius are not accepted
* First-time travelers accepted

This inpatient facility is a full-service hospital offering comprehensive care across a wide range of patient populations, from neonates to geriatrics. The pharmacy department operates with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, social services, and interpretation services. The facility utilizes Meditech as its electronic medical records system and maintains a 114-bed inpatient environment with a focus on clinical excellence and collaborative patient care.
