Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* No on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred; candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Treat patients with diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Apply the nursing process across patient age groups including adults and geriatrics
* Document thoroughly in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements
* Demonstrate proficiency with skills including central line blood draws, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Utilize interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and adapt to practice changes
* Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills required
* Ability to float to other units as long as competencies are met
* Pre-approved time off: one request per contract
