Opportunity:

RN - Medical/Surgical

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of facility
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Float to other units required based on competencies
* Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage patients with diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, interpretation of ABGs, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize workload
* Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and stressful environment
* Proficiency with computer systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software required

Facility:

This facility operates a 48-bed inpatient unit providing comprehensive medical-surgical care to adult and geriatric patients. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains high standards for patient safety and care delivery and provides a dynamic clinical environment where nurses are expected to apply both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
