Opportunity:

Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

Job Details:

* HCHB experience is required - no exceptions
* Work in an 80-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital unit
* Patient ratios of 1:6 during day shifts and 1:8 during night shifts
* Unit staffing includes 1 HUC and 2 Rehab Techs
* Document using Meditech and RehabConnect EMR systems
* Scheduling managed through central scheduler
* Dedicated to the rehab facility - not a float position, but may be flexed
* Treat patients with TBI, stroke, ortho, cardiac, SCI, pulmonary, and debility conditions
* Perform procedures including e-stim, ultrasound, splinting, wound care, and limb wrapping
* Utilize equipment such as Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, Hoyer, Viking, sliding boards, and more
* Apply hands-on skills with knowledge of relevant medical conditions and EMR documentation compliance
* Participate in team conferences and interdisciplinary communication
* Conduct family trainings and DME recommendations
* Must be proficient in safe patient handling techniques
* Must have familiarity with protocols to prevent complications such as autonomic dysreflexia, bowel/bladder programs, and skin integrity and wound prevention
* Must have training in wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment
* Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills required
* Inpatient rehab hospital experience preferred
* Current licensure to practice in NC required
* Dress code: Rehab casual or black scrub bottoms with eggplant purple scrub tops

This inpatient rehabilitation hospital is a YCVA certified facility featuring 80 beds and a dedicated rehab unit equipped with a variety of specialized equipment to tailor therapy to each patient's needs. The facility operates an active student rotation program and has a young CVA program certification, supporting a collaborative and educational environment. The interdisciplinary team approach and variety of specialized equipment make this an excellent setting for experienced rehabilitation professionals.
