Opportunity:
RN - PCU - Respiratory Care Unit
Job Details:
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required; first-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of PCU experience
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* EPIC charting experience required
* Care of ventilated and tracheostomy patients required
* IV therapy skills required: accessing/managing ports, administering blood products, central/PICC/peripheral line care and management, starting and maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy
* Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), HFNC, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration/tanks, and tracheostomy care/management
* GU/Renal skills required: feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, and renal failure
* Medication skills required: heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and IV insulin protocols
* Cardiac/general skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry (on-unit monitoring), and isolation precautions/PPE
* Patient ratios: 1:4 for PCU/IMC; 1:5-6 for MS/Tele
* Weekend requirement: every other weekend
* Holiday requirement: must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Must float within skillset without exception
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Patients served: adults and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and more
