Opportunity:

ICU RN

Job Details:

* Work in a 10-bed Medical ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
* Self-scheduling with adjustments made to ensure a balanced schedule
* Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
* Holiday requirements include 2 summer holidays and 3 winter holidays
* No call or standby requirement
* May be floated to the floor as needed
* Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment
* Hospitalist and Intensivist in-house 24/7 within the ICU
* Respiratory therapist present in the ICU 24/7
* Must be proficient in telemetry, ventilator management, and drip titrations
* Required to titrate drips including cardiac, sedation, and paralytic medications
* Required to read own telemetry/monitor strips
* Nurse aides and patient care techs not always available on the unit
* Charting performed using EPIC system
* 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Scrub color requirement: Galaxy Blue
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS

This acute care facility operates a Medical ICU equipped to handle critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention. The unit supports a multidisciplinary care approach with around-the-clock physician and respiratory therapy coverage, ensuring comprehensive support for both patients and nursing staff. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic health record system and maintains structured scheduling and cancellation policies to support a balanced work environment.
