Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required (may need to work consecutive weekends to accommodate requested time off)
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 and 1:2
* 20-bed unit
* Care for post open heart surgery and cardiac medical patients
* Manage ventilators, tracheostomies, and trach care
* Perform post heart cath recovery and patient management
* Manage post-operative day 1 open heart surgery patients
* Experience with long-term ventilated patients required
* Experience with Swan-Ganz catheters and vasoactive medication titration required
* Utilize Epic for computerized charting, Omnicell Medication Administration, B. Braun IV Pumps, Avea ventilators, and Edwards and Phillips patient monitoring
* Float to ICU, IMCU, and ED first, then Medical Surgical, telemetry, post-surgical, and ortho neuro as needed per union contract
* When floating to med-surg, serve as a resource nurse with a reduced assignment
* Scheduled call is not required, but mandatory standby may be required due to low census
* Minimum 3 years of RN experience and 1 year of CVICU nursing experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Oregon RN license required; non-Oregon licensed RNs eligible for a 90-day temporary license
* Dress code: Standard scrubs in any color; no visible tattoos on the neck or above; facial jewelry limited to earrings and a small discreet nose stud no larger than 1.5 mm
* Acute care setting, Level 2 Trauma facility

This acute care facility operates a 20-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit dedicated to providing specialized care for post-open heart surgery and complex cardiac medical patients. The unit is equipped with advanced monitoring and medication administration technology to support high-acuity patient care. The facility maintains a Level 2 Trauma designation and utilizes an Epic electronic health record system throughout its departments.
