Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg Stepdown

Job Details:

* Care for adult Med/Surg patients on a progressive care stepdown pulmonary/medical-surgical unit
* Treat patients with complex and varied diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, GI, oncology, diabetes (including DKA), sepsis, pneumonia, and infections
* Every other weekend required
* No block scheduling permitted
* Requests for full weeks off during November and December will not be approved
* Must be willing to work a minimum of 3 out of 6 winter holidays
* Float requirement to other universal/progressive areas within the health system and affiliate hospital
* Minimum 2 years of experience at a Level 1 trauma facility required
* Must have PC/AC/Telemetry/Med-Surg experience
* Kentucky or compact nursing license required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Required onboarding exams: EKG, Math, Med/Pharmacology, Progressive Care Competency, Progressive Care Skills, and CORE exams

Facility:

This facility is a large academic health system housing a progressive care stepdown pulmonary/medical-surgical unit that cares for a wide variety of adult patients with multiple and often complex diagnoses. The unit operates as a sister unit to an adjacent floor and provides comprehensive care spanning cardiac, respiratory, GI, oncology, and other specialty areas. The health system also includes an affiliate hospital nearby, with float requirements between locations to support broader patient care needs.
