Opportunity:
RN - PCU - Respiratory Care Unit
Job Details:
* Every other weekend requirement with holiday coverage required (must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs)
* Patient ratios of 1:4 for PCU/IMC and 1:5-6 for MS/Tele
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Must float within skillset without exception; ratios vary based on census, patient acuity, and staffing
* Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required; first-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of PCU experience
* Active NJ or Compact license required at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* EPIC charting experience required
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Care of ventilated and tracheostomy patients required
* IV therapy skills required: accessing/managing ports, administering blood products, central/PICC/peripheral line care and management, starting and maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy
* Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), HFNC, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, O2 administration/tanks, and tracheostomy care and management
* GU/Renal skills required: feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, and renal failure
* Medication skills required: heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips without titration, PCA, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and IV insulin protocols
* Cardiac and general skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit monitoring, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and more

The facility provides advanced care across a wide range of specialties including cardiovascular services, transplantation, cancer care, neuroscience, orthopedics, bariatric surgery, women's health, and pediatrics. The hospital holds designations as a Level I Trauma Center, a Pediatric Trauma Center, and an Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center, and is part of one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in the state.
