Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked in with permanent staff
* First to float; may float to Labor & Delivery or postpartum to care for babies
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:3 for feeder/grower patients
* Level 3b NICU with 16 beds, expanding to 20 beds
* Minimum 2-3 years of NICU experience required with Level 3 NICU experience
* Travel experience preferred
* Ability to attend deliveries preferred
* Spanish-speaking nurses preferred
* Common diagnoses include all gestational ages, prematurity, sepsis, cooling (experience with cooling preferred), and substance abuse/withdrawal
* No ECMO; patients requiring surgery will be transferred out
* Ventilators used: Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillator
* Charting system: Cerner
* Monitoring equipment: Philips (no monitor tech)
* Drips: all types
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team or nurse aides on unit
* Charge nurse present on unit
* Floor-specific orientation: 2-3 shifts
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
* BSN not required

This acute care facility operates a Level 3b NICU providing specialized care for neonatal patients across all gestational ages. The unit is supported by a dedicated team including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy staff available around the clock. The facility maintains a collaborative environment with permanent staff and offers a comprehensive range of neonatal services, with plans for unit expansion to better serve the growing patient population.
