Open Position: RN - PCU

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position on the 2 North floor
* Patient ratio of 5:1
* Work alongside a day shift team consisting of a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs
* Utilize telemonitoring and post-op monitoring equipment
* Work with Meditech/CPN electronic medical records system
* Perform post-op recovery for surgical and cath lab patients
* Care for post-op orthopedic patients including spine and joint procedures
* Manage a variety of patient populations including elective ortho, spine, GYN surgeries, elective cath lab procedures, stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure
* Administer set-rate cardiac drips (non-titrating except heparin)
* Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
* Cardiac experience preferred
* Prior Meditech experience preferred
* NIH certification preferred
* Friendly, outgoing personality and teamwork-oriented mindset preferred
* Must be able to multi-task in a high patient turnover environment

Facility:

This facility features a brand new state-of-the-art Progressive Care Unit with ADA and bariatric rooms equipped with in-room Hoyer lifts. The unit prides itself on a strong team culture with excellent collaboration and a wide range of nursing experience. The unit operates with a modified self-scheduling process, with schedules posted three weeks in advance to allow flexibility for shift trades and scheduling needs.
