Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac/Telemetry (5 North)

Job Details:

* 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
* 2 years of nursing experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6
* Half of contracted shifts will include weekend coverage
* 16 orientation hours required
* Charting system experience required; Epic system used
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Care for adult patients ranging from young adults through geriatric population
* Priority care for patients requiring medical level cardiac care and recovering from cardiac interventions including cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant
* Also responsible for hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, managing vasoactive drips, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, sheath removal, telemetry monitoring, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams

Facility:

This facility features a 36-bed cardiac unit comprised entirely of private rooms, providing specialized care for patients recovering from cardiac interventions and procedures. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial staff.
