Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM (days) or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (nights)
* Day shift with every other weekend requirement; weekend availability may be required more frequently based on departmental needs
* Must be willing to work all holidays as needed by the department
* On-call may be required on weekends if staffing is short; candidates must be flexible
* Schedule is provided 2 weeks in advance; block scheduling may be accommodated if departmental needs are met
* All time-off requests must be made in advance and approved by RT directors
* Perform all breathing treatments, manage all ventilators, collect ABGs, and perform EKGs
* Handle equipment cleaning and turnover, and maintain accurate charge documentation in the computer system
* Number of treatments per day can range from 5-10 up to 30 depending on patient volume; average of at least 20 procedural counts per day
* Must be able to float to other floors including nursery, ER, and additional inpatient units as needed
* Must have experience with all patient populations including adults, pediatrics, infants, and neonates
* Experience working with Puritan Bennett 840s and 980s ventilators, as well as vents with built-in compressors and LVT 1200 state-provided ventilators
* EMR system: CPSI - Evident Thrive (TruBridge - Evident)
* Telemetry monitors: Nihon Kohden
* Pharmacy access via Omnicell (not available 24/7)
* Ability to intubate independently is preferred but not always required
* Must be able to work independently and hit the ground running
* One day of floor-specific orientation provided; must be ready to work immediately after
* 5 years of respiratory therapy experience required
* 1 year of previous travel experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, RRT
* Preferred certifications: PALS, NRP
* Scrub colors required: Black, gray, or khaki (scrubs provided in COVID unit)
Facility:
This is a small 88-bed acute care hospital offering a range of inpatient services including emergency care, ICU, and a dedicated COVID unit. The facility operates with an ER physician in-house 24/7 for emergencies, and physician groups cover their own patients on call. The respiratory therapy department strives to maintain fair workload distribution across units and is currently staffing four therapists per shift to meet patient care demands.

This position is located within an hour of Panama City Beach, FL and Tallahassee, FL.
