Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
* Holiday call rotation required as needed
* Float to outpatient surgery as needed
* One weeknight on-call 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM per week with rotation varying
* One weekend 24-hour on-call shift per month from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Call response time is 30 minutes; if more than 30 minutes away and on-call, required to stay
* 2-3 years of experience in OR specialty required along with 2-3 previous travel assignments
* Ortho experience required
* Must have experience passing arms in and out for Robotics (Da Vinci and Rosa)
* Must have experience with all specialties for evening and night shift
* Night shift RN will work as the only RN with 2 techs and must be comfortable working independently in that capacity
* Must have Epic EMR experience
* Varied start times; no self-scheduling for travelers; block scheduling available if it meets unit needs
* Shift options include 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts with times including 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, 11:00 AM-7:00 PM, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM-11:00 AM
* Scrubs provided for RNs and OR techs
* OR staff responsible for turning over rooms; no aides or housekeeping available
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA); PALS preferred
* Unit orientation consists of 3 shifts over 1 week
* Facility operates 9 ORs, 1 procedure room, and 1 hybrid room with 35-45 cases per day
* Common cases include general, ENT, eyes, ortho, robotics, neuro spine, trauma, vascular, and limited pediatric cases
* All surgical cases covered except CVOR and L&D C-sections

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a busy surgical services department open 24/7, featuring 9 operating rooms, a procedure room, and a hybrid room. The facility handles a high volume of diverse surgical cases averaging 35-45 per day, including general surgery, orthopedics, robotics, trauma, vascular, neurosurgery, and select pediatric procedures. The OR team is largely comprised of travel staff and maintains a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with advanced surgical technology including Da Vinci and Rosa robotic systems.
